Dorm Life

Dorm Life at MLS
Since many of our students come from areas where a daily commute is difficult or impossible, about two-thirds of the student body live in dorms. The dorms aren’t just a place to sleep, however. The dorms offer a unique and fun living experience, as students get to live together with their friends and learn how to take responsibility for their daily routines. If you get a chance, ask a dorm student about dance parties, sleepovers, and playing mafia.

Inter-Dorm Office (IDO)
This office serves both the boys’ and girls’ dormitories and is staffed by a member of the Dorm Staff between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. One may reach the IDO by calling 989-799-7554 or emailing

After School Schedule
Students follow a similar schedule as the one listed below. Schedules vary depending on the extracurricular activities for students. Students have free time in between study halls and after school. Depending on the grade level, freshmen – juniors have several study hall options to choose each day. Each student is responsible for scheduling their study halls each day on the computer by 12:45pm. Practices and rehearsals are scheduled throughout the evening and students must schedule study halls around these events. At the most students will have two study halls per day unless they are making a study hall up.

The schedule for Monday through Thursday is the basic pattern, and so the schedule for those days is given first. Since the schedule for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is different, the schedule for those days is listed separately.
