MLS Guild
The Guild was organized in 1949. Since then it has served to promote greater interest in Michigan Lutheran Seminary. It is made up of mothers, grandmothers, alumni and friends of MLS. The guild provides financial support for special projects, supports scholarships and helps out at various functions of the school.

Christmas Cards
Christmas Cards are available every year for purchase. They are designed by MLS students and have messages of the true Christmas gift. Each set of a dozen cards sells for $7.00. They are available for purchase in the Business Office and at the Cardinal Corner during sporting events.

Cookbook
| Expression of Appreciation Due to popular demand, the MLS Guild has ordered more cookbooks. They have arrived and sell for $8.00, plus $3.00 for shipping, if necessary. We apologize that due to increased postage costs, we had to increase the shipping cost. Our cookbook has been compiled with care by the Ladies Guild of Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Although not all recipes are originals, they are the donors favorites and we gratefully thank each contributor. Thanks to all of you who purchased our Guild Cookbook. Over 600 copies were sold! - Page 2: Nancy Beach's Texas Caviar - 1c. of oil & no vinegar. (This is printed in the book but may not be correct; still waiting for confirmation.)
- Page 40: Pretzel Salad - Directions.
- Prehest oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl combine crushed pretzels, 3 tablespoons sugar and melted butter. Mix well and press into a 9x13 inch pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Cool.
- To make the filling, combine in a medium bowl the cream chees and confectioner's (powdered) sugar; beat until smooth. Stir in whipped topping; spread mixture on crust and refrigerate.
- Meanwhile, combine gelatin mix and boiling water; add strawberries and cold water. Stir til berries are defrosted. Let gelatin mixture thicken slightly, and then pour over the crust and filling layers. Refrigerate for 4 hours.
- Page 69: Creole Baked Cauliflower - should be 5-6 "cups" cauliflower
- Page 84: BBQ Beef - bake 3 hours, NOT 30 Hours.
- Page 123: Broccoli Chicken- should be 1-2 Tablespoons of curry powder
- Page 124: Janet Roekle recipe - Bake 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour
- Page 131: Gayle Wooster recipe - 3 TBL. butter, NOT 33 TBL
- Page 221: Chocolate Eclair Dessert-(3 lines missing in this recipe). After using half of the pudding mixture on top of crackers, you are to line pudding with another layer of club crackers. Add remaining pudding mixture on top of crackers, then add another layer of club crackers. Finally heat up icing and pour over crackers gently. Chill overnight.
- Page 256: 8-10 oz. unsweetened chocolate. 7 oz. sweetened condensed milk. (There had been "no" separation of these 2 ingredients)

Birthday Bags are a way to surprise your son or daughter with a bag of goodies delivered to
him/her on the Tuesday of his/ her birthday week! You can order goodies bags for any occasion,
birthdays, holidays or for exam week. Cost for each Birthday Bag is $10.00; Exam Bags are $5.00 each.

- Calculators ($90 for up to ten)
- G-SPAN expansion of activities ($500)
- 2nd Automated External Defibrillator for heart related emergancies ($1200)
Purpose of MLS Guild:
To promote greater interest in MLS among the women of our congregations, who are made up of mothers, grandmothers, alumni and friends of MLS, give financial support to MLS by supplying needed items and carrying out special projects, and to provide an opportunity for Christian fellowship on a wider scale.
