Matching Grants Program
Benefits Of a Matching Program: Dozens of MLS students benefit each year from tuition contributions made by their home congregations. In fact, direct support from congregations provided nearly $140,000 in tuition payments for students attending MLS in the 2015-16 school year. Recognizing just how important congregational support is for our student body, MLS is implementing a matching grant program for the 2017-18 school year, that will provide up to $500 for every student receiving designated support from a contributing congregation.
How to Apply: You can download a program flyer, which has a form at the bottom. Submit that form, along with your gift, to be considered fully applied. Applications can be submitted and processed without a check, but will not be considered final unless and until funds have been received.
Deadline: April 30, 2017 – If funds are not received by the deadline, then the matching dollars will be applied to the next eligible application that was previously unmatched.
Limitations: MLS has designated a minimum of $30,000, made available through a combination of grants and designated funds, to be used for the matching program. This means that matching is available for at least the first $120,000 of congregational support. For reference, there was $137,250 in congregational support for MLS students in the 2015-16 school year.
