A.D. Libs
Meet the Athletic Director
My first year as A.D. is drawing to a close. My underlying theme for the year has been ‘success’. When you look at the different ways in which we can be successful, I think we can say we had some great successes. The following are some of the things I would call successful from our student-athletes:
We have had two district champions, girls’ volleyball and boys’ wrestling. We have had three all-academic teams, boys’ football (2nd in state-division 8), boys’ wrestling (division 4), boys’ basketball (1st in state-division 4). We had many athletes make all-conference, a couple make all-area, and even an honorable mention all-state. As of this printing we are currently in first place in the TVC sportsmanship balloting.
There were other types of successes that I could continue to mention, but the greatest success for all of these student-athletes is still the fact that they know their Savior and that whether they are successful on the field or in the classroom the most important thing to realize is that they are children of the most heavenly Father. There is no better way to measure success.
One final note, there has been talk of starting a girls’ golf team and a soccer team. I have listened to those suggestions, but at this point in our program we do not plan on adding any more sports.
